Long-awaited Updates!

I am back from the fabulous blue mountains trip! It was really a good getaway from the mundane school life- great company and breathtaking scenary.. ahhh... Have not transferred my photos so I will update about it and Sil's birthday celebration later on. Below are the 'earlier' updates which I promised in the previous post!

31st Aug 07- 'Outing' with Project Group

I have this module which require us to propose an OT-based service to an organisation and this is my group! We had our first official meeting with the organisation at Fairfield. There's Amber and Adrian, Kerrie is missing as she had to rush off to attend a party. They are a really fun bunch to work with- always cracking jokes and teaching us the Aussie slang.. haha.

Anyway, Amber drove us there in her 4WD Land Rover- cool right?? Zhen and I was so fascinated with it lor.. so we decided to just sit at the front seat and take a photo..haha. I was like to tempted to try driving it ah...

So here we are- entertaining ourselves! Look Ma, I am driving a 4WD!! haha.. cheap thrill man.
After that, nice Amber dropped us off at Farfield town centre where Zhen and I went to do more grocery shopping- really auntified man.

2nd Sept 07- Elain's Birthday Celebration!!
Here's the wonderful steamboat spread that we surprised her with when she just returned from church! A good steamboat meal is all that is required to make us all contented- we talked and laughed over the steamboat for like 3 hours!

We also surprised her when she came out of the bathroom- with her mum and brother on Skype and a birthday cake! We sang Happy Birthday to her till she cried.. and the rest of us started to cry too! I was holding the cake and was so scared that the cake would become salty with my tears lor. It was really a heartwarming moment for all of us =)

The next day, Vivienne came over to have dinner with us! We celebrated Elain's birthday again cos we had to eat the cake which we were too full to eat the previous night (after the steamboat feast!).

The happy birthday girl with the cake that was from her mother- when I was in Singapore, her brother passed me money from her mum to buy her a cake in Sydney on her birthday. Her mother is soooo sweet right? Actually thought of such a nice surprise for her =)

Here's the mega-2kg caramel mudcake! We were all so excited to indulge in the branded cake lor but was super disappointed with it. It tasted like 'Hua-kuey'- you know the brown-sugar cake which we always use during prayer session? Yeah.. it tasted like that except that it is harder. Nevertheless, the hungry ghosts manage to gobble up the entire Hua-kuey!!

Look what we found on the kitchen table on Tuesday morning! The birthday girl surprised us with small gifts and a note to thank us for the birthday celebrations. What a sweet gesture! Glad that you enjoyed your birthday dear... especially when you are away from home.. it got to be a memorable one!! =)

Here's my pecans from Elain! Muahaha.. Can indulge in one whole packet- happiness!
