Blue Mountains Trip- 7-9 Sept 07
Took a 2 hour train ride down to the bluem mountains. Sil, the birthday girl, eating her mee sua which was cooked by Elain! She 'da bao' to eat on the train ride there. Zhen, the extra, behind her.
We checked into our hostel and began exploring the touristy areas. On our way to see the famous 3 sisters-we came across...... THE BLUE MOUNTAINS CHOCOLATE COMPANY!!! Read on the internet that they have the best hot chocolate in the world! It was really cold up in the mountains so were happy to discover the shop and practically ran towards it.
I couldn't decide between the hot choco or the ice cream (looks delicious too!). Eventually I chose to share a cup of hot choco with Zhen while the rest of them bought ice-cream (look at tan wan ru- her gigantic scoop of ice-cream and her greedy face). Boy did I not regret my choice! The hot choco was..... AHHH (with an exclaimation !)- orgasmic!!! One gulp and you really feel like you are floating to heaven... I am NOT exaggerating ok.. it was the best cup of hot choco I had in my life! Until now, I can still remember that rich choco taste and the thick liquid flowing down my throat...it was simply a moment of pure bliss- felt like I was falling in love... Ok, I think you all get my point huh.
Wan Tan and I with the gigantic koala bear- he looks miserable with us..hmmm..maybe he feels violated?
Happy with the goodies in our tummy, we trotted down to echo point to look at the 3 sisters. It was a cloudy and rainy day so the 3 sisters were covered by the clouds. We were quite disappointed with the view, especially when it began to rain!
The rain stopped and we were presented with a beautiful rainbow- can you see it (only smart people can)?
Then we began our adventure to Leura cascades along the Prince Henry Cliff Walk... All fresh and excited at the start of the walk, not knowing what awaits behind! Muahaha.
Brave Elain managed to overcome her phobia of steep stairs when descending the giant stairway. She was perspiring profusely cos of the physical and psychological stress! Well done babe- so proud of you!
We were so adventurous that we simply walked into the forest without any map, compass, etc- just armed with our lunchbox and waterbottle- and we walked and walked and walked in the cold, wet forest....trusting our instincts and sense of direction....hoping that no animal is eyeing on our juicy meat...no rapist either...ok, getting abit too drama.. Then we finally saw- Leura forest!! Walked further and saw the pretty Leura cascades too...
Seat for bored husband-Zhen really looked bored. Wonder what was I thinking at that point of time- bored husband = sir stamford raffles? Sigh.
