Physical Disability Council of NSW
15 Sept 07- Strategic Planning Meeting
My apologies for the lack of updates again! Have been really busy with school work. I am having my break week now which my housemates and I termed as 'homework week' and our house has turned to a 'homework camp' hahaha. Alot of work to do ah..trying to finish up soon then can go out and play over the weekends! I am planning for a day trip to a tulip festival at the southern highlands of Sydney...really need a break from all the mugging before school starts again!
Well, here are some photos which I took the last few weeks. Our lecturer asked for some volunteers to help out at the Physical Disability Council of NSW's strategic planning meeting. She wanted to give us the opportunity to sit in an organisation's strategic planning meeting where persons with physical disability come together to decide on the vision and mission of the council with the aid of a professional strategic planner. Zhen and I grabbed the opportunity! Was interested in learning about strategic planning as well as the physcial disability scene here.
Sooo.. on a sunny saturday morning, we went down to Glebe point road where the council is...
Our auntie instincts brought us to paddy's market once again and we bought a 'duo bu' caixin which stucked out of my shopping bag and kept tickling my armpit... Zhen was so amused with it and so she decided to take a photo of me while we were waiting for the train.. haha
TA-DAH! The carriage of the train we sat on was totally empty! It was so rare ok. So 'sua-ku' us decided to photowhore in the train...nobody around so we buay pai seh to do stoopid things like that.. haha. Quite amazing huh.. an empty carriage can make us so 'HIGH'... ermm.. okie.. sounds wrong again.... hahaha
Okie, I know you must be thinking the photos you just saw are not very relevant to the meeting that I shared at the beginning of the entry. Well, did not take photos during the meeting so these are snippets of our mini-outing after the meeting. The meeting was an eye-opener for me- really inspired by the members of the council who are very passionate about advocating for the needs of persons with physical disability in NSW. Zhen and I were in charge of buying and setting up the food and all..had a very fun time buying all the expensive and super delicious sandwich, muffin and sushi!! Felt so rich when wer bought them in bulk.. each muffin is like $2.80?? So the cheapo us, gladly 'da bao' the leftovers and indulge in them for dinner!!
Well, we did not earn the good food that easily alright.. the price of it is that we have to share our reflections about the meeting during lecture!! Argghh.. don't like to do public speaking here.. will somehow do stoopid things then start to ramble in singlish.. with all the 'lahs' and 'lors' and make everyone laugh.. I must learn to present professionally man..
